Pak domestic cement sale clocks 2% growth in Sept

Cement domestic dispatches in September 2016 in Pakistan were 2.536 MT, registering a growth of 2 per cent, while the exports amounted to 0.523 MT, reflecting a growth of 11.79 per cent, compared to September 2015. The reason for the slowdown in domestic growth was the occasion of Eid-ul-Azha.
According to data released by the All Pakistan Cement Manufacturers Association, during the first quarter of the current fiscal year, the cement industry posted a growth of 9.50 per cent in local dispatches compared with local dispatches during the first quarter of the previous fiscal year.
Exports also recorded an increase of 3.03 per cent compared with exports during the first quarter of last year. The overall situation during the first quarter of the current fiscal year showed 8.33 per cent growth compared to the same period of the last fiscal year.
During the first quarter i.e., July-September 2016, the cement industry dispatched 8.976 MT of cement, while during the corresponding period of July-September 2015, total dispatches stood at 8.286 MT.
