Raw material costs affect ACCs bottom line

In the first quarter of 2014 (January-March), the cement industry did not witness any significant infrastructure growth. With no uptrend in the demand for cement, ACC´s sales volume is at the same level as it was in the corresponding period of the previous year. During the quarter, the company´s total consolidated turnover was Rs 2,967 crore as compared to Rs 2,906 crore in the first quarter of 2013. EBITDA is at Rs 425 crore as against Rs 492 crore in the first quarter of 2013.

For this quarter, the company´s PBT stands at Rs 400 crore as against Rs 438 crore in the first quarter of the previous year. PAT was at Rs 113 crore on conclusion of earlier years assessments. Manufacturing costs faced escalations in the cost of major inputs.
