Indian mining sector facing challenges | Dassault Systemes
Geovia, a vertical of the French firm which produces 3D software for mining companies, is of the view that productivity would have to be improved at a lower cost, for which innovation is important.
Geovia CEO Raoul Jacquand said Indian mining companies would have to embrace new technologies and digital models of mines, a prerequisite for better productivity. ´We are cautiously optimistic about the Indian mining industry at the moment,´ he said.
Terming India as a significant market for Geovia, he said that the company is keen to help firms achieve greater productivity through digital transformation of mines into 3D models. Geovia has set up an R&D centre in Pune where 2,000 engineers are working on developing 3D models of mines.
